New 2025 Best Practice Guidelines

The European Commission has published the 2025 Best Practice Guidelines of the “Code of Conduct for Data Centre Energy Efficiency” – a pioneering guide for anyone planning, operating, or modernizing data centers.

❗ Several new “expected practices” have been added – concrete measures that are considered crucial for energy-efficient operation.

❓ What does this mean for operators and planners?
The demands on data centers are increasing. Energy efficiency is no longer a “nice to have” but a key criterion in planning, construction, and operation. The EU Code of Conduct not only provides guidance but also a recognized basis for comparing and evaluating measures.

The Commission’s website is currently being revised, and the updated reporting form and other documents will soon be available there. A further bulletin is planned.
