History
1987
Gernot Frauscher begins his studies in Electrical Engineering at the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien). At the same time, he works as a freelancer in the emerging IT industry, installing his first networks. Novell has just released the Netware 2.0a, marking the beginning of the pioneering era of networking.
1991
A rapidly growing market has emerged from the early steps of PC networks. Gernot Frauscher founds his first company focusing on network infrastructure.
1993
In addition to installing and providing support to server systems and active network components, the company begins to set up data cabling systems and server room infrastructure.
1999
The company embarked on its first major infrastructure projects, such as implementing the network infrastructure for HP and Microsoft at Euro Plaza or establishing the Backbone for the Vienna Twin Towers.
2005
The company is sold to Kapsch BusinessCom. Gernot Frauscher becomes the Sales Director for strategic sales and is entrusted to setup the infrastructure division in the company.
2010
After five successful years, Gernot Frauscher returns to self-employment. The new focus this time is on planning and consulting. The first project is the overall planning of the data centre and network infrastructure for the new campus of the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Wien). 2017
From the sole proprietorship with four employees, a limited liability company is being established. The FRAUSCHER CONSULTING GmbH is moving into its new office in the 14th district of Vienna, on the Bergmillergasse. Christoph Strohmayer is appointed as managing director alongside Gernot Frauscher.
2019
The FCG has grown to ten employees and is opening a branch in Linz on Hamerlingstraße.
2024
The FCG team now consists over twenty employees. The services have diversified significantly, with a focus not only on traditional planning services but also on supporting operational management, audits and certifications.
