Construction Supervision
Quality Assurance in Construction
Since the sole purpose of a data centre is the uninterrupted operation of the IT equipment housed therein, the unconditionally high execution quality of the supporting technical building-equipment is of paramount importance. FRAUSCHER CONSULTING provides general, on-site, technical and even commercial construction supervisions, depending on the agreement. It ensures that the execution of the facilities complies with the requirements of the authorities, performance specifications and installation planning.

Commissioning – Acceptance
Performance Assessment, Defect Tracking, Commissioning and Integration Testing
As the execution phase of a data centre progresses, the day of “Go Live” draws closer – the day when the entire organism of the data centre must function unconditionally according to its specifications. The flawless operation of individual components, but more importantly, their concerted interactions, especially in failure scenarios, can be verified through a multi-stage commissioning and acceptance process. This process begins before the delivery of the main components with factory acceptance tests and continues after installations with functional tests at the component and system levels. The culmination of acceptance testing is the cycle of “Integrated System Tests” (IST), where the data centre is rigorously tested under load, simulating comprehensive failure scenarios in both primary and secondary fault situations. The ultimate Black Building Test examines the case of a complete shutdown followed by a restart of data centre operations. It is evident that meticulous planning, execution and documentation of these test procedures are key to ensuring future operational safety. After successfully passing all of these commissioning tests, nothing stands in the way of accepting the data centre and transitioning to real-time operations.

Strategic/Tactical Facility Management
Support and Quality Assurance in Operations and Optimizations
Once a data centre is successfully handed over to the client, the operational phase begins, which is often designed to last for up to twenty years, according to today’s standard. The smooth operatons of the data centre organism during these years depends significantly on ongoing facility management. In its strategic aspect, facility management involves asset ownership, ongoing operating costs and depreciation. Tactical-operational facility management encompasses all aspects of technical operations, such as operations, preventive maintenance, standby services, energy management, renovations and modernizations. FRAUSCHER CONSULTING advises you in these complex matters over time.
